Things to know about Tinkle comics and its forgotten past.
Comic books were a major source of entertainment and relief for most of us. However comic books lost their popularity. Because children got interested in using their smartphones as a means of diversion. They don’t need comic books in their life anymore. As a result, more than 50 Tinkle comic publications were shut down.
History of Tinkle comics.
Tinkle comics had a motto, “Where learning meets fun”. This was meant to be followed. Therefore we have come across knowledge that was popular in Tinkle. These included puzzles, comics, stories, quizzes, etc. Characters like Suppandi and Shikari Shambhu, Tantri the Mantri and Kalia were the favorites.
Anant Pai created Tinkle. First of all, Tinkle was launched in 1980. Moreover, its various mixture of folktales and science made sure it received thousands of letters from its huge fan base. Tinkle was originally owned by the India Book House and was acquired by ACK Media in 2007.
Tinkle was so perfect with the combination of wholesome education and comedy that it gathered various fans in celebrities too. Our former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee joined the likes of famous people who were impressed with Tinkle.
But with the rise of digitization and internet, the fresh and funny stories of Tinkle has been forgotten and stays in the past. People are more comfortable browsing their smartphones and playing games rather than going through the freshly glowing illustrations and comics. This is the harsh and sad reality of today’s generation.
