There are many kinds of relationships, the worst of them all is the Obsessive Relationship. The term Codependent was defined to describe unhealthy relationships in which people lacked self-sufficiency and depended way too much on their partner.

Here are 3 Signs You are Definitely in a Codependent Relationship-

1. You can’t live without your partner

But isn’t it romantic? No, it’s not romantic, it’s just an illusion popularised by hopeless writers and poets. If your life revolves around your partner, then there is something wrong. Getting scared to lose your love is normal, but getting anxious and depressed the moment they get away from your sight is downright freaky! This thing is unhealthy and it’s damaging you from the inside. Learn to be complete by yourself, being paranoid about losing your partner and ending up being lonely is not OK! This “other half” thing exists only in the books written by those hopeless writers. Always remember- you are the cake and everybody else is just icing on the top.

2. Your happiness depends on the other person

Obsessive Relationship

If you seek valediction from your partner, you are in a codependent relationship, and this is a bad news. You always want to be accepted by your partner and you’ll do anything for it, even if that means going against what your heart says. Or, you want your partner to behave in a certain way, and if they don’t act like the way you want, you become wary and restless. A person’s happiness depends on one’s own self and nobody else! Don’t give *anyone* the power to control your happiness.

3. You have no freedom

Sometimes, you feel trapped. But you can’t escape, either, because you think you will not be able to live without your partner as you are too afraid to face the loneliness. You are so accustomed to always put yourself behind and care for the other person’s happiness first that you have forgotten to take care of yourself. This loss of self-love is the reason that you live in a constant fear of abandonment which makes it difficult for you to leave your partner’s side even for a moment. If you have lost yourself in the relationship, then you should break free and learn to love yourself first.
