Essentials while going for a bike ride
The Bike Ride is a great means of blowing off some steam when you are stuck in a monotonous routine of life, it does you more good than you can ever imagine.
Going places on your bike is probably the best experience you can ever have, the wind you feel against your face and the only voice on a silent road is your bike’s. There are some measures though that you must take before embarking on your journey:
The bike itself: Choosing a bike depends on the fact that what kind of rider you are if you are a straight highway junkie or more of an explorer in both the cases your choice of bikes must be different depending on your posture and suspensions offered by the bike.
Navigation system: A robust navigation system makes the journey more enjoyable, as you know then that where are you going and if you’re on a correct path or not.
Hard copy of a map: Though navigation systems are reliable but, sometimes it happens so that, they might get discharged in that case a physical copy of the map will come handy.
Repair kit: God forbid if you find yourself with a flat tire on a deserted road then, in that case, the only help you are going to get is from your repair kit.
Proper communication system: A Bluetooth headset system among the riders of your group will prove very helpful as you can coordinate among each other about stoppage and fuel etc.
Safety gear: Safety gear includes a high quality helmet, a good jacket, tough pair of shoes, and a pair of gloves along with knee protectors, make sure all your gear is in good condition as it proves lifesaving in certain scenarios.
Extra pair of gloves: In case the first one wears out, Make sure they are waterproof in nature so that your balance on the handle will remain same in the case of rain.
Batteries: Having a power bank will enable you to use your gadgets without worrying about them to die out; a decent power bank will be enough to charge your device at least 4-5 times before being completely exhausted.
Cash: Not every place has an online transaction facility and in that case, some hard cash will prove really useful, don’t forget to keep some cash for the road while departing from your home.
Flashlight: A good flashlight will help you if you get a flat tire at night.
Tank bag: Tank bag, though not essential makes its place in the list due to the fact that for longer trips it is a necessity as the luggage carried will be more, so your tank bag can take some of the burdens of your bag pack, without interrupting your riding.
A fuel siphon: If you are going on a long trip then there might be a chance that you’ll get long stretches of road without any petrol pump in sight; in that case, these little siphons can be used to transfer petrol from one vehicle to another.
All you need is now to get on your bike with the things mentioned here and just enjoy a safe and pleasant trip.
