How a concert turned into a massacre in Las Vegas.

The US history has seen the deadliest mass firing in Las Vegas concert. Although incidents like this have happened before the Las Vegas incident was a total nightmare for the citizens. First of all, the shooting happened in a public concert. A lone gunman named, Stephen Paddock opened fire from a rooftop in Las Vegas hotel. Firstly, he shot fire continuously with an aim only to attack people. At least 59 people were dead, 527 people injured and the rest were running for fear and shelter.

The attack happened near the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. It happened near singer Jason Aldean’s performance. The concert was actually Route 91, Harvest festival. It was a 3-day country music festival.

The killer.

The killer had several weapons. One of those were semi-automatic rifles. The killer committed suicide by shooting himself. He was 64 years. Later, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department found several armed weapons in inside his hotel room. In addition, he also had several armed weapons in his home. The gunman, Stephen Paddock was an active gambler. He was a rich guy. Firstly, he went on cruises and also played golf.

The survivors of the incident were all in a shock. What was meant to be fun concert, had turned into a massacre within seconds. The most happening place in US had suddenly become haunted and one can only hear mourning. Moreover the Islamic State had claimed that the gunman was a soldier there.

Initially many people thought of the firing as fireworks. There is also a video which shows nine seconds of continuous rapid fire, followed by 37 seconds of silence from the weapon and panicked screaming from the crowd. Gunfire then erupted again in at least two more bursts, both shorter than the first.

We are all deeply saddened by this incident. Although we can’t really do anything but just pray for the departed souls. Let’s try our best to be at least wary of such incidents in our own countries.
