Bollywood Movies gave us major travel goals-Remember the times in college when we used to have plans for an all friends trip and most of the time couldn’t stick to the plan. Who doesn’t want to go travel all around the world and visit every corner possible? Well, that is one hell of a dream. We do not know if a life is enough to visit every corner of the world but there is something we can possibly do.
What exactly? Not much actually, just follow these Bollywood movies which have proved time and again that we have a lot to explore and showed how exactly we can. Excited for the ride? Let’s get started!
- Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)
If you forgot to let us remind you this is not just the most romantic love story ever on screen but this is where the travel craze started. After all, Raj and Simran met on the trip to Europe and the journey has been beautifully shot in the film. And how can we not mention the Punjab’s mustard fields where the song “Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jana Sanam” made a place to our romance fantasy.
- Dil Chahta Hai (2001)
All of us have Goa in our Bucket list is just because of this movie. Well, I would rather say not just on the bucket list, very much at the rim of the bucket. This movie makes you fall in love with the rustic charm of Goa and is the reason me and my friends count it as a dream destination to hit the roads.
Jab We Met (2007)- Bollywood Movies
From Ratlam ki galiyaan to Bhatinda in Punjab made us fall in love with the movie altogether. And you won’t believe the movie was the reason I took the trip to Shimla. Well, I had my reasons but it gave all of us major Manali trip goal, experience it yourself.
- Anjaana Anjaani (2010)
The protagonists(played by Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra) in Anjaana Anjaani decide to end their lives on the last day of the year. But before that, they took a road trip from New York to Las Vegas. After all, Las Vegas Nahi Dekha to Kya Dekha!
- Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)
Well, well, well….This movie gave a new definition of Travel and a reason Spain became a popular travel destination for Indians. The Lazy road trip in spain, the adventure sports and the super-fun Tomatina, makes you want to travel with your friends and discover your own self.
- London Paris New York (2012)
London Paris New York is a love story spread across 3 nations. The movie takes you on a journey through three of the most beautiful cities in the world- London, Paris and New York. These are the perfect destination to head to for a random yet romantic experience. I bet it will make you pack your bags and leave on a romantic escapade to one or all of these locations!
Queen (2013)-Bollywood Movies
The movie was is a perfect depiction of the experiences of a Solo Traveler and a reason why everyone should take a solo trip at-least once in their life. And who knows may be just the way Rani found awesome friends on the trip, you can also come across some amazing people in your journey. Moreover, Paris has been named as the romantic city and holds one of the most precious symbols of love – The Eiffel Tower. This just gave you another reason to travel to France.
- Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
While all the girls were falling in love with ‘Bunny’( Ranbir’s Character) in the movie, the movie gave us a whole bunch of reasons to fall for with all the mesmerizing travel adventures and the destination wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan showcased an unseen aspect of the place and proved that it is much more than just desserts.
- Chennai Express (2013)
The film was surely a visual treat. From the majestic Dudhsagar Falls in Goa to the lush hill town of Munnar in Kerala, each frame of the movie was a sight to behold in the film. Also, the sites from Rameshwaram are a wondrous delight to the eyes. This movie inspires to take a look at the nature’s essence of the southern region of our country.
- Highway (2014)
This film was a journey that you didn’t want to end. The theatre felt like a
window seat of a vehicle and you just didn’t want the vehicle to stop. It captures the remote Sangla Valley in Himachal Pradesh and drives over to the Aru Valley and Chandanwari near Pahalgam. And, the travel experience to hit the roads in a truck is a fantasy that we all have been living ever since.
Piku (2015)- Bollywood Movies
Piku explored the nuances of a father-daughter relationship during a road-trip from Delhi to Kolkata. The Highways that they took to reach the destination make us want to be on a road trip asap. The stoppage at Varanasi explains the serenity of the divine land. Altogether, It showed us that the metro cities still carry its rich culture and there is always something more to explore.
- Tamasha (2015)
Tamasha brought to life the beautiful city of Corsica for us Indians. The local flavor was just enough to make Corsica your dream destination, a place where nobody would know you and you won’t know anybody either. A perfect place to escape to and find a newer self.
- Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)
The sequences on the cruise ship had the beautiful ocean in the background and stunningly dressed people in the foreground. The film was an absolute travel guide to introduce you to how can the cruise be explored and enjoyed. And not to forget the sites from Turkey, Spain and Tunisia was a perfect blend of color and heritage. All in all, it very well reminded us that a cruise trip is a must to add to our bucket list in case we missed out on it.
