Red blood cells are really important as they contain Hemoglobin- an iron-rich protein which transports oxygen into the body’s tissues. Having a healthy RBC count is important because their deficiency can lead to Anemia, causing fatigue, shortness of breath, fast heartbeat and skin pallor.

1. Get an Iron-rich diet

Vitamin C impact the production of red blood cells and increase the absorption of nonheme iron. More iron means more Hemoglobin which means healthy red blood cells. Vitamin C rich foods are oranges, strawberries, lemon, pineapples, apples, guava, red and green peppers.
3. Intake Folic Acid
Folic Acid is a B-complex Vitamin which is required for the production of RBC and its deficiency leads to a low-level of Hemoglobin. The Folic Acid rich foods are leafy vegetables, sprouts, bananas, dried beans, broccoli, and beetroot.
4. Eat a more Alkaline Diet
The blood’s pH is naturally 7.365 but an acid-forming diet can cause the balance to shift slightly in favor of acidity, which scours the arterial walls. Reduce sugar, soda, and processed foods and start eating alkaline foods like vegetables ( almost all vegetables are alkaline), avocados, coconut, lentils, soy, lemon, grapefruit, almonds, and sprouts.
